because inquiring minds want to know, here are details:
1. Bill was able to notarize the doctors’ licenses at our bank rather than the one I tried yesterday. Yes, Leslie, our wonderful doctors and their staff will be receiving something yummy.
2. Bill has apostilled everything except our MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE. While I was explaining apostilling to the kiddoes this morning, it occurred to me that this could be a problem. Because we have several “original” (how can there be more than one “original?”) marriage certificates, we just included one of these. However, we were married in NC so it has to be apostilled in NC. Fortunately a pair of the grandparents live in Raleigh so they can take care of this for us. It just won’t go out with this set of documents but will go out along with the I171-H and STATE criminal clearances, when they arrive.
3. Bill is enroute searching for Maggie Scobie. Even with his fancy-schmancy i-phone, he has needed ME to be his GPS.
They are trying to connect at some restaurant in Aldie, VA.
Other news:
Katya has been sent to a “children’s sanatorium” for three weeks. I have NO idea what this means and you can imagine that this mother’s heart is just longing to get her HERE where she can see our wonderful doctors. Anyone out there who can enlighten me on what is a “children’s sanatorium?” Please pray for God’s protection of Katya.
Tamara, Katya’s grandmother, has assured Liliya, our translator, that she is signing papers tomorrow. Perhaps this recent sickness, as hard as it is, is part of God’s plan for moving Katya out of an institution and into a family.
We did talk with Katya on Saturday – Bill, me, and ALL the kids. It still is too tender for me to write about, so I’m focusing on tasks. Once I can, I will write.

I think the sanatorium is a hospital or place where they recuperate.
I was going to offer to email you our Dr. license form, but I see you’ve worked it out.
June
Thanks, June! Most of it’s all worked out. My husband is so great. He’s carried documents all over the state today and is on his way home now. We still have some missing pieces, but Dima at least has most of the documents to translate.
Regarding the sanatorium, I think you’re right. It just makes me sad that she needs 3 WEEKS to recover from something and I have no idea what and nobody can tell me anything other than a high fever. I hate the thought of her recovering in an institution. I just want to get her snuggled on the couch with a pile of books and feed her chicken soup.
Thanks!
Chocolate does the trick! Kristina said the sanitorium is just a resting pace. She said its pretty boring. LOL! The name just sounds scary. It’s definitely not an INsanitorium. That would be where you are, in the paper chase! I hope Bill was able to get with Maggie. I’m supposed to be calling her tonight to talk about using Dima again.
Yes, our Katya had to spend like 4 or 5 weeks in a sanatorium for a heart condition that doesn’t seem to really exist. She was never really sick but she was bored and missed her friends and her sister. But I remember the day that they sent her, I was so freaked out – it just sounded bad. But she said it was much nicer than the hospital. I pray that your Katya is not really very sick too and that either way she is home eating soup and reading books very soon!
Thanks Leslie and Stephanie! Leslie, you are so right about the INsanitorium and the paper chase! Bill and Maggie did connect. She flies out sometime today, but I don’t know exactly when. We’ve been THRILLED with Dima so far.
Our Elaine said that the sanatorium is a nice place. This last time she was there, she met a lot of very nice girls, and they exchanged phone numbers to keep in touch amidst tears that they would miss each other.
you freaked me out when you said they took her to a sanitorium. I was thinking somthng totally different than what you all have said. I want her home to mom. Though I am not sure she could stay on a couch. She would probally be up and bouncing around. I cannot remember seeing her calm exept when she was asleep.
